Today's lunch special: zebra!
While driving across the short grass plains of the Serengeti, just outside of the Ngorongoro gate, we come across three female lions out on the hunt. In the distance, the zebra and gazelles are keeping a wary eye on the lionesses as they slowly make their way to the herd. The Serengeti looks like a supermarket for lions: the predators can choose and pick what they would like to eat. Today's lunch special: zebra.
The vultures have lost their patience and as if a signal has been given, take flight as a group, in search of an easier meal

A fourth member of the pride has lunched on gazelle earlier; she does not want to disturb her sisters and waits patiently in the distance; she's no longer a threat and the zebra walk quite close to the lioness |
